Why I Turned My TV Off - One Year Ago Today.

One year ago today, I turned my TV off. Not for good, But just for that news broadcast. I simply could not take it.

What was I viewing? Joe Biden was signing into law that men could marry men and women could marry women. This was the first time that all three branches of government had now officially affirmed same sex (so called) “marriage.”

I knew we needed to repent of our national sins, before a Holy and Just God. Only a couple weeks earlier, I had placed some calls to see if we should have a time of national repentance in Washington, DC. What came out of my conversations with Pam Pryor (formerly in the State Department), Mike Farris (formerly head of Alliance Defending Freedom), Mike Johnson (then a lesser known Congressman, now Speaker of the House) and Tony Perkins (leader of Family Research Council) resulted in us founding the National Gathering for Prayer and Repentance. Seating is limited, so sign up now, because you are invited to the…

“In November of 2022, I called Tony Perkins, and Congressman Mike Johnson, so see what their thoughts were about calling government and faith leaders together to pray for repentance. The National Gathering for Prayer and Repentance is not a prayer breakfast. This is a 'no-breakfast prayer.' The prayers are about repentance. For personal sins. For sin in the church. For America’s sins. We focus on the vertical, that is, God. We don’t applaud for people. We only applaud for God…at the end. We don’t have speeches or sermons, except designated persons to call us to serious repentance. We don’t even introduce people. The spotlight is on God. People lead in prayer. To Him. For one minute. Sincere heartfelt prayer. Intense prayer. As if the nation depends on it. Because it does.”

“Our nation needs God. Now. Our Founding Fathers understood that our strength and unity were found in our commitment to Him and to His righteousness. We think America is strong, yet a long train of events reveals weakness on every front and historic level of division. We assume America will always be. It will not. 'Under God’ must become more than a part of our Pledge of Allegiance. 'In God we trust’ must be more than our national motto on our currency. America needs God. While some may refuse to accept that reality, we readily acknowledge that America truly does need God. It is for that reason that we come together at the National Gathering for Prayer and Repentance to repent of sin. We invite you to join us on January 31 in the spirit of humility, brokenness, contriteness, and repentance.”

  • Tony Perkins, Family Research Council,
  • Co-founder of the National Gathering for Prayer and Repentance
Schedule: 7:30am – Event begins. Due to security lines, come early.

Part 1, 7:30am: Prayer, Repentance and Worship

10:15am: Pastries, coffee and juice (Note: There is no breakfast or lunch served.)

Three persons will speak very briefly, calling us to genuine heartfelt repentance.
Part 2, 10:45am: A Spectacular Look at Israel. You will hear two remarkable friends, Tsaki Mamo (Orthodox Jew from Israel) and Byron Stinson (Evangelical Christian from Texas), tell about the:
  • Biblical significance - Numbers chapter 19 - of the Red Heifers, an update on them, how they were found, where they are now, why this is significant for the Jews, what it means for us as Christians.

  • The rather stunning story about the land that has now been secured for the Numbers chapter 19 cleansing ceremony, which though it has not occurred for 2,000 years, will happen soon.

  • The amazing recent developments regarding resources for rebuilding “The Third Temple”.
