Defending Israel At The Hague

Can we make a difference in government? The short answer is “yes.” Sometimes things look so impossible. But in time, things happen. How? By prayer and by declaring His Word over earth’s situation. Remember the essence of prayer is, “Thy Will be done.” Where? “On Earth.” As compared to what? “As it is in heaven.”

Recently, the International Criminal Court, which is not under the United Nations, declared that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a “war criminal.” In the same city of The Hague is the International Court of Justice, which is under the United Nations. It deals with nations disputing with nations. It has 15 Justices, but is “non-binding,” meaning it has no enforcement capabilities. However, it has enormous public relations and political clout.

Last week we were in The Hague, in The Netherlands at “The Trial,” (www.TheTrial2024.org) led by our wonderful Dutch friend, Jack van der Tang, defending Israel from these spurious attacks.

Eight hundred persons attended The Trial in the beautiful World Forum in The Hague. At one point, there was a roll call of the nations. The comments and prayers of national leaders were powerful. I led this portion, calling out the names of 48 nations.

Numerous speakers and lecturers presented the legal (international law), historical and biblical case for the defense of Israel.

The focal point of “The Trial” was The Decree. Everyone signed this remarkable document, a defense of Israel. Once the event was over, a large delegation of us took it directly to the International Court of Justice, also known as the Peace Palace or the Temple of Peace.

The Decree was also delivered by a group of about a dozen of us to the Israeli Mission (Embassy) to Israeli Ambassador Modi Ephraim and Deputy Head of Mission Yaron Wax.

By all accounts, the ruling from the ICJ will be extremely negative towards Israel. At the same time, The Trial stood as a firm warning against those who would dare “divide God’s land.” Joel 3:1-2 states, ‘For behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgement with them there, on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they scattered among the nations; they have also divided My land’.” This was sort of a pre-Valley of Jehoshaphat moment, a calling to account for how the nations have treated Israel.

It costs a lot for us to attend these international events. The travel and hotels are not cheap. Furthermore, the schedules can be grueling. These are not "vacations" or "holidays" or "junkets." These are intense, sleep-deprived, long days, preceded by and followed by 24 hours of rigorous travel.
