Biden Honoring Joy Behar... And My Time On Behar's Show.

Well, the occupant of the White House felt that he should take time out of his workday to honor Joy Behar on her 80th birthday. Why? Is she that significant to America? Watch it here.

I too have a “Joy Behar story.” It was to be my second time on Larry King Live. Allow me to explain.

I wrote about my first time on the Larry King Live show in 2008, after his passing in January 2021, on Facebook (click here to read) and in a newsletter (click here to read).

On this second time to be on Larry King Live, November 2008, Joy Behar, to my disappointment, was the guest host. In addition, I was “remote,” that is, not in the studio. That is a distinct disadvantage. You cannot see any facial reactions. You are not seeing it on screen at all. You only hear the conversation, in a tiny earpiece. When you are remote, you generally don’t get called on as much as the in-studio guests. You have to try to jump in to the conversation as much as you can.
In-studio was my very good and godly friend, (the late) Bishop Harry Jackson (I miss him immensely.) Also in-studio was the vile and often foul-mouthed Dan Savage. Savage is the epitome of anti-Biblical concepts. I had been on other interviews with him. I will say no more except he desperately needs to come to know Jesus.
In remote studios were the then Mayor Gavin Newsom in San Francisco (tragically, now Governor of California) and me, from San Diego. I had been in-studio, sitting next to Newsom on two Dr. Phil shows.

We were discussing the recently passed Proposition 8 in California – to the shock of leftists – in November 2008 by a vote of 52.3%. Here is the first segment of that show, and here is the second segment.
(Note: Sorry about my 2008 hairdo

Which takes me back to the original question: Why would Joy Behar be honored the way she was? She supports the murder of innocent preborn babies. But tragically, so does Biden. She supports that for which God destroyed Sodom. But once again, so does Biden. She supports the mutilation of children if a boy calls himself a girl and vice versa. Horrifically, so does Biden.
Why am I writing this? I want you to see how far we have slipped as a nation and how fast we have gone. Can you imagine Franklin Roosevelt or Harry Truman honoring someone as irrational and vile as Behar? No. Can you imagine Jimmy Carter (while he was president) or even Bill Clinton (while he was president) honoring her? Likely not.
Our demise as a nation has been so fast and we have slid so far that my 2016 book called Well Versed needs to be updated because evil has progressed so much in our nation since then.

There is much talk among Republicans of a great “red wave” coming in the November elections. That alone will not save us. It is important to remember that 47 of the GOP Members of the House – that 22% of the Republicans – recently voted to destroy the Biblical, historic, orthodox, authentic, God-ordained definition of marriage.

List of the 47 GOP Representatives:

One of those 47 who voted against God’s 5,000 year old definition of marriage was my Congressman Darrell Issa. What is interesting is the pastors of our Congressional District met with Issa (whose last name is Arabic for “Jesus”) before he was elected. We were concerned about another GOP candidate for the position, who was a practicing homosexual who openly said he wanted to change the GOP on the issue of marriage and abortion. We did not want that candidate to win. Thus we – after personal discussions with Issa – chose to support him. And then to our shock, the man we supported so that we would not have a pro-homosexual (so-called) “marriage” advocate in Congress, turned around and voted as bad as what the homosexual candidate would have. So our hope is not in Republicans. At least not in about 1/5th of them who have betrayed the party platform and the base of the GOP Party. Candidates can lie. And do.

Tragically, the last Democrat in the House, that I am aware of, who was pro-life was Daniel Lipinski, Congressman from Illinois’ 3rd District, until he lost in the primary to a far more leftist Democrat (we had the privilege of meeting Lipinski on a couple of occasions). We were in the House gallery once during an abortion vote. When Lipinski voted pro-life, we observed that he had to physically separate himself from the other Democrats – Member of Congress were standing around the chamber during the vote – and move over to the Republican side, after he cast his pro-life vote.
Democrat Mike McIntyre, Congressman from North Carolina’s 7th District, who decided not to run for re-election in 2014 after 18 years in the House, was the last of the solidly pro-life, pro-traditional marriage Democrats left.
What about the Senate? Democrat Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia is simply not dependable when the pressure comes on.
It might shock some that if one goes back far enough (1960s and 1970s), virtually all Democrats were opposed to killing babies in the womb and wholeheartedly supported Biblical marriage.

There is no such thing as a “transgendered” person. All of us are permanently XX (female) or XY (male). Nothing can change that.
Probably no one area more demonstrates America’s rapid demise than this area of bizarre and freaky anti-science, that is, men calling themselves women.

And it has gone so far that a young boy at public school, without the parents' knowledge, can be taken to “transitioning services,” and permanently harmed or scarred for life.
One of the most egregious and offensive comments ever made by the current occupant of the White House was the distinctly anti-Biblical statement directed towards teachers that "the kids are like yours when they are in the classroom."

We could list so much more evidence for America’s fall into the abyss, and it does little good when well-intentioned preachers – looking for a rousing sound bite – parrot the worn-out phrase, “America’s best days are ahead, because God is not done with America.” (Note to all preachers: Stop saying that. It makes you look profoundly uninformed.)

Are America’s best days before her? We don’t know. At this point, there is no evidence of that. I am sorry to have to give a “reality check.” Is God not finished with America? We don’t know. He might be. He certainly has good reason to be.
I don’t write these words as a pessimist. I am simply a realist. Which brings me to the “optimist” side of things. If America repents, at least a “critical mass” of Americans, she might be spared the judgment she deserves.
Are we under judgement right now? I am not sure. We are certainly under severe and deserved discipline. And we might be moving into a season of strong judgement.

Which brings me back to prayer, repentance, fasting, and speaking God’s Word over our nation. That is what we attempt to do on the World Prayer Network, every Sunday and Wednesday night – at 5pm Pacific, 6pm Mountain, 7pm Central, 8pm Eastern. Join us – Sunday and Wednesday nights – as we become better informed, learn how to pray with specificity and then, we actually pray together. Join us. It might be America’s last hope.
