NETHERLANDS

UN International Court of Justice, The Hague

The Hague is the name of one of the most famous cities in the world. It is in the Netherlands, or what is sometimes called Holland.
This unique city is a global center of international law and arbitration:

  • The International Court of Justice, the judicial arm of the United Nations
  • The International Criminal Court
  • The Permanent Court of Arbitration Europol.

Remarkably, nearly 200 other international governmental organizations are also located in The Hague.

The globally famous International Court of Justice is viewed as sort of a Supreme Court of the world. It is here that nations bring their grievances against each other. Its court is housed in what is called the “Peace Palace” or “Temple of Peace.” There are 15 justices at the International Court of Justice.
Well Versed would love to someday begin a ministry in The Hague, a most remarkable international city. Will you pray with us regarding this?
Some would contend that all international law comes from The Hague, from this International Court of Justice. While we respect the role this court can play, we believe that “the law” will come from Jerusalem, that is God-based law, not The Hague, that is man-based law.

Well Versed believes Isaiah 2:2-4:

2 In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. 3 Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 4 He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation,  nor will they train for war anymore.

It is repeated in Micah 4:1-4:
In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. 2 Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion,  the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 3 He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. 4 Everyone will sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree,
and no one will make them afraid, for the Lord Almighty has spoken.

5 All the nations may walk in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.
As you are well aware by now, we have no interest in this being used as a photo gallery. That is not worth our time to prepare and your time to peruse. This is, however, a prayer page. We ask you to seriously pray for The Hague, (that is the famous city) and specifically for the International Court of Justice and its 15 Justices. Pray that there be biblical understanding of governance. Pray for all who are involved in government in this remarkable city to become “well versed.” And pray that Well Versed is able someday to launch a Well Versed Bible study in the governmental centers of this city.

It is important to understand that the Palestinian Authority, in their attempt to rob all the land of Israel from the Jewish people, have created bizarre and indefensible pseudo-legal arguments before the International Court of Justice in an attempt to manipulate public opinion against the Jews.

Corrie traveled all over America speaking until her 80s. As a college senior, I heard her speak in 1969. She died at 91 in 1983 in Southern California and was buried in Los Angeles.

My Notes from Our Trip to the Netherlands Story No. 1 of 3 stories:

HONORING ISRAEL:  My faith in God has been SO stirred due to our recent trip to the Netherlands. We attended the International Conference on Truth, Justice and Peace, founded by our good friend Jack van der Tang. Members of the Parliament of the Netherlands asked permission of the government for Jack to have his conference in the prestigious Ridderzaal (“Hall of the Knights”), the oldest continuously used government building in the world (since the 1300s), in the famous city known as “The Hague.” The Members of the Parliament reported that “it was a miracle that permission was granted” as this is the building used when the King of the Netherlands comes once a year to address the nation.
But there was more. We were surprised to learn that this was the building in which a representative of Adolf Hitler came 79 years ago to announce that all the Jews would be exterminated. The highest percentage of Jews being killed in any European nation – 85%! – occurred in the Netherlands!
When we gathered in that elite hall, it was the first time anyone had asked forgiveness for what had been done to the Jews. In addition to repentance, a Member of the Netherlands Parliament proclaimed boldly, “In this hall where it was announced that the Jews would be killed, anti-Semitism ends. The blessing of Israel now begins.”  It was an electric moment. You could feel a “shift” in the atmosphere. But we did not know for certain what had happened – in the heavenlies – that was about to manifest on earth!

Three significant things occurred. I will list the first one here, and the other two in other places on this page of the website. The King of the Netherlands called Israel’s Ambassador to the Netherlands so that the King could say “goodbye” to the Ambassador as he was retiring. The King’s representative asked if the Ambassador wanted to be picked up at his private residence or at the Israeli Embassy.  Ambassador Shir-On said, “Pick me up at the Ridderzaul.” There was a long pause. The voice repeated: “Do you want us to pick you up at your residence or at the Israeli Embassy?”  The Ambassador responded with the same answer, “Neither. Pick me up at the Ridderzaal.” The stunned voice inquired – knowing that the Ridderzaul was where the King goes, where his throne is, “Why the Ridderzaal?”  The Ambassador explained: “Because I am at a meeting here.” So the King sent over a limousine, complete with the flags of Israel waving proudly from the front fenders, led by eight motorcycle guards.

Get this: One day years ago, Hitler’s emissary announced “death to all Jews” in this hall.  79 years later, the King sent his private car to pick up the official representative of the one
Jewish state on earth, and escorted the Ambassador to the King’s Palace to be honored – at the time that it had just been declared, “The blessing of Israel now begins.”  God is good!

Story No 2 of 3:

But we did not know for certain what had happened – in the heavenlies – that was about to manifest on earth!.

After declaring that the Netherlands would bless Israel, a miracle happened. The next day, the government-owned Dutch railroad company; the one that hauled over 100,000 Jews to their deaths in the concentration camps in the 1940’s, announced that – after 70 years of ignoring the Jews – they would pay 10s of millions of dollars of reparations to: (1) Holocaust survivors, (2) surviving spouses of those who did not survive, and (3) children of those who did not survive. The “blessing of Israel” had finally begun, one day after the prophetic declaration was made by a member of the Dutch government in the most prestigious hall in the Netherlands!  Answered prayer.

Personal thoughts
Story 3 of 3:

THE OPEN DOORS: We recently were in Holland (The Netherlands) to attend the International Conference on Truth, Justice and Peace, founded by our good friend Jack van der Tang. Members of the Parliament of the Netherlands asked permission of the government for Jack to have his conference in the prestigious Ridderzaal (“Hall of the Knights”) the oldest continuously used government building in the world (since the 1300s) in the famous city known as “The Hague.” The Members of the Parliament reported that “it was a miracle that permission was granted” as this is the building used when the King of the Netherlands comes once a year to address the nation.

When we entered the Ridderzaal, we had to use a small non-descript door and a small staircase. I thought it was a bit odd that the most famous building in Holland had such an unpretentious entrance. Then we learned that the front doors are opened only for the King, when he enters to sit on his throne.

However, it became warm in the building. Without being asked, the officials of the building made a decision saying, “It is getting warm. We will open the main doors.” And they did!

In the remarkable atmosphere of worship and prophetic declarations of the day, we all keenly sensed God’s presence. Our good friend Rabbi Yehuda Glick – a former Member of the Knesset in Jerusalem – later proclaimed, “The doors were opened. The King came in!” meaning that God had come in our midst and had occupied His throne!  It was an electric moment!  We all sensed it. God is good.
