Basic Information
We are looking for 100 outstanding young adults, ages 18-29, who:
Are spiritually strong,
Are serious Christ-followers,
Are passionate about learning the Bible and about government,
Are clear thinkers,
Are intellectually acute,
Are psychologically mature and responsible,
Are personally disciplined (do not use alcohol, drugs or nicotine),
Are walking in sexual and moral purity.
Are learners, growers and are curious,
Believe Jesus died on the cross for their sins,
Believe that God made people male and female (only two genders),
Believe that marriage is defined as one man-one woman,
Believe that abortion is morally wrong and ends a life,
Love understanding the principles of biblical governance,
Enjoy knowing how Washington, DC works,
Would love to meet Congressmen and government personnel,
Thrive on meeting new people,
Support Israel (no antisemites allowed) and stand in solidarity with the Jewish people,
Are passionate about learning how the Bible speaks to governmental issues,
Want to try to impact the governmental realm for righteousness and holiness?
Are excited and positive about life and living,
And are fun to be with, and have a great attitude.
The event is called “DC27.”
Selected participants will receive a two-night hotel stay, a travel stipend, and the opportunity
to take part in a reception at the Capitol Hill Club on Tuesday evening,
February 2, then attend the National Gathering for Prayer and Repentance on the morning of February 3, 7am to 9:30am,
followed by an intensive all day leadership course with
Dr. Jim Garlow and a team of biblical-governmental-political experts.
Lunch will also be served.
The experience will conclude with a special late-night tour of our nation's capital led by
Tim Barton, providing unique insights into America's spiritual and constitutional heritage.
This opportunity is designed for emerging leaders who desire to
deepen their biblical worldview, strengthen their understanding of government
and public policy, and be equipped in influencing their generation for Christ.
Costs:
The only cost to a student is $200. All other expenses are covered.
Arline tickets:
Students will purchase their own airline tickets, or keep track of their driving expenses (59 cents/mile).
The student will pay only $200 of their travel costs. All other expenses (beyond $200) will be covered.
Airlines reservations will be made by their students, or they can contact a travel agent.
They will then turn in an invoice to be paid back everything except the $200.
Students should make economy reservations, not first class.
Hotel:
Hotel costs (two nights; two persons per room, of the same biological sex only) are covered.
Food:
Students will keep track of food costs (normal meals, not expensive restaurants).
Transportation to/from Airport:
Taxi or Uber costs (from/to airport) will be reimbursed.
Transportation around DC:
Once in DC, shared (3 or 4 person per vehicle) taxi or Uber costs.
All of those will be reimbursed when turned in.
Textbooks will include books by Dr. Jim Garlow, including by not limited to:
