A Biblical and Spiritual Analysis of the 2026 Midterm Elections

While others are analyzing what happened in the elections on Tuesday, November 3rd, our concern is not red versus blue or Republican versus Democrat. 

Our concerns, as a Well Versed ministry, always has been and continues to be “biblical principles of governance among government leaders.”

That being the case our analysis is:

• What are the biblical issues at stake? I am particularly interested in the pastors who ran for office. 

• Given the pastors who were elected, what does that mean for our country?

• Does that indicate a significant theological change in our nation? 

• Where is the nation spiritually, as nearly as we can determine, based upon the presence or absence of biblical principles being affirmed in the election? 

Repeating: Our concern on last night's broadcast was not about red versus blue. You will be able to get that on other news outlets. What we addressed on the World Prayer Network call was specifically the spiritual tone of America and biblical theological issues as reflected in certain elections. 

Historian David Barton talked briefly about the influence of pastors in early America, including in the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and who were involved in the U.S. Congress. Watch Here.

I (Jim) then shared a report about the fourteen pastors who were running for or already in Congress.

Joining me was Tamara Scott, who reported from the state of Iowa about the two pastors who ran for Congress there. She is a brilliant thinker and organizer who also hosts a weekly show online called “Tamara Scott Live.” 

Also joining me was Pastor Dominic Burkhard, the founder of 121 Capitol Connection and a full time missionary in the Michigan State Capitol. He discussed the election results in Michigan from a biblical perspective, particularly as it related to America having a Muslim U.S. Senator for the first time ever.

Additionally, Pastor Jeff Mullen read "A Letter to America,” sometimes through tears, live on the broadcast, which he had written at 4:30am the day after the election and posted on Facebook.
