President Trump's Remarkable Proclamation Yesterday. Finally a President Who Remembered.

President Trump has just acknowledged something in a May 4, 2026 proclamation that (to the best of my knowledge) no modern President has recognized. It is my understanding that Donald J. Trump might be the first president to speak about Haym Salomon since Abraham Lincoln. See yesterday's proclamation down below. This is amazing.
 
Allow me to give some background. Please permit me to repeat some things I have shared in previous newsletters.

On Thursday, April 16th, Rosemary and I had the privilege of attending a planning session regarding REDEDICATE 250. What is REDEDICATE 250? Our President has called for America to be rededicated to God. Think of that! This is an amazing moment.

When, during your lifetime, has a president specifically called for “America to be rededicated to God?” You have never heard that from the White House. Not during your lifetime. The closest would have been comments by President Reagan in the 1980s, but even he never called for an event in Washington, DC for the purpose of rededicating the nation to God.

But there is more. So much more. Now back to yesterday’s presidential proclamation.

As of yesterday, May 4, 2026, President Donald J. Trump has officially acknowledged the contributions of American Jews to our Nation, in general, and of Haym Saloman specifically. 
 
Who was Haym Salomon? Let me explain.

Rosemary and I were in Washington DC at the EEOB [Eisenhower Executive Office Building at the White House] on Thursday, April 16 with about 25 persons where the White House team planning the REDEDICATE 250 event shared with us about the program for Sunday, May 17 on the Mall. During that meeting, I shared the story of Haym Salomon, asking if it would be possible for one of the scheduled speakers to share his story at REDEDICATE 250. 
 
I have no idea if my comments about Haym Salomon got to the President or not. Perhaps they did. Perhaps they did not. Regardless, we are so glad that President Trump referenced and honored Haym Salomon in a proclamation today. Thank you, President Trump. Once again, as I stated above, to the best of my knowledge, this is the first president to acknowledge Haym Salomon since Abraham Lincoln. 
 
This is so appropriate for Haym Salomon to finally be honored by our nation. Why? For several reasons:

• We are living an era of Jew hatred, spewing from Tucker, Candace, Carrie Prejean, and countless others. We need to come against this evil, and properly acknowledge that the Jews gave us the Torah (“teaching”), Pentateuch or Law, the Prophets, the richness of spiritual truths in the design of the Tabernacle and later, the Temple, the Psalms, the Proverbs, the teaching on the Messiah, the Messiah Himself, and all the New Testament writings (except those from Luke who was Gentile) including the teaching about the soon-to-come Messiah. All the members of the Early Church were Jewish. And to cap it off, Jesus was a Jew. We owe everything to the Jewish People.

 
Therefore, it is time we honored the Jewish People, and especially a Jewish man named Haym Salomon, who literally saved America during the Revolutionary War and financially carried the young nation after the war. Although he arranged loans which, in today’s dollars, would be in the billions of dollars, our nation never paid him back. He died in poverty, as did his widow, as did his children. He was forgotten. No statue honors his sacrifice in Washington DC.

The only statues that honored him (Chicago and Los Angeles) where erected by Jewish persons. 
 
May we ask you to stop now and call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and speak, one at a time, to the offices of both of your Senators and your House Representative, and simply say, “We request that the Congress fund a statue to Haym Salomon, the Jewish man who funded the American Revolution and the Continental Congress. He was never repaid for his loans. The least we could do is to have a statue in Washington, DC honoring him.”
